In their latest video, H3D demonstrate the capabilities of the H Series during and after total water immersion
The ability to detect and map radiation sources in water can present challenges to devices which may be subject to water immersion, such as in a nuclear reactor’s spent fool pond. However, H3D have produced the world’s only waterproof imager for gamma sources with the H Series and demonstrate its capabilities in their latest video.
Protected against water and dust ingress
With an IP67 rating, the H Series is protected against water ingress, meaning the imager can be immersed in freshwater for up to 30 minutes without the risk of water damage. Detection specifications are maintained during and after submersion and its design which protects it so well against water and dust means it can also be easily decontaminated without risk to internal components.
The H Series is also protected against dust ingress, making it ideal for sites such as decommissioned nuclear power plants. Lightweight and ruggedized to be hard-wearing and shock-resistant, it is a portable field device for situations where gamma radiation needs to be identified and quantified.
