R&D Engineer - UK (Sheffield based)
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced R&D Engineer to drive products and innovations from prototype to production. In this position, you will be based out of our Sheffield office along with other R&D scientists and engineers both from Southern Scientific and the LabLogic Group.
You will be responsible for developing a range of exciting and innovative R&D projects. You will be an essential member of the R&D team, delivering cutting-edge engineering projects, pioneering industry-leading technology, and working in an agile engineering team requiring a multiskilled approach whilst ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
You will also attend industry-specific conferences aimed at further developing your knowledge of the industry's ongoing work and the challenges our customers are currently facing that we can assist with.
Responsibilities
- Execution of technical tasks in a deadline-orientated manner
- Working in partnership with product specialists to define requirements specifications for new products
- Developing and implementing new electronic hardware and embedded firmware solutions in line with product requirements
- Taking ownership of the design and development of new electronic hardware and firmware solutions, working with other team members to manage integration, collaborate on problem-solving and provide mutual peer review
- Carrying out testing and evaluation of all new product developments to ensure robust and comprehensive hardware and firmware solutions
- Carrying out engineering work in line with company procedures based on industry-recognised quality standards
- Supporting other engineers and collaborating to create a cohesive design
- Applying proper project management processes and complete documentary records for safekeeping and traceability

Requirements
Essential
- At least five years of relevant industry experience working in a research and development team
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Physics, Embedded Systems or equivalent
- Experience in embedded programming using C or a similar programming language
- Experience in electronic/scientific instrumentation design, prototyping and bench testing
- Excellent communication skills and experience working well in a multi-skilled team
- Excellent ability to prioritise tasks and manage time to meet project needs
Desirable
- Experience with mechanical design and using CAD design tools
- Experience working with STM32/ARM microcontroller systems
- Experience working with SolidWorks CAD software
- Knowledge of nuclear physics concepts and common radiation detector instrumentation design
- Knowledge of IPC standards
- Knowledge of simulation techniques for electronics design
- Full driving license

Sales Executive/Product Specialist - UK (Sheffield based)
The Role
We are looking for a candidate to join our team as a Sales Executive/Product Specialist. The role is primarily within the nuclear medicine and Radiopharmacy sectors with a potential for further development within other parts of our business. As part of the sales team, you will be provided training and support and you will be mentored and managed by a senior colleague with extensive experience in this field helping you to take our growth to the next level.
Your role will initially involve covering the UK market selling radiation monitors, safety products and consumables. As you develop, your area of responsibility will increase and include distributor management. While the role is initially predominantly UK based, there will be an element of international travel required to fulfil the role. In the fulness of time you will understand our product portfolio to the extent that you will be a solution provider to our customers. With a broad understanding of the different parts of our business and the products we represent and develop, you will become an integral part of the sales team and will be responsible for your own area of the business.
In this position you will also work closely with other departments to develop the product customer base, increasing awareness of your products and providing an excellent overall customer experience. You will be provided with a company car, laptop, and mobile phone to assist you in your role.

The Role
This role is a full time, office-based position.
In response to continued growth and increasing engagement with UK Government clients, we are seeking a Bid & Project Manager with experience in Ministry of Defence (MOD) procurement, Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks, and NEC contracting environments.
This role will lead the preparation and delivery of compliant, high-quality bids for public sector opportunities, while also managing the mobilisation and delivery of awarded contracts. The successful candidate will play a critical role in navigating complex procurement processes, ensuring strict compliance, and delivering value-driven project outcomes.
You will act as the focal point for bid and project coordination, ensuring alignment with government procurement regulations, security requirements, and commercial frameworks.
Responsibilities
Public Sector Bids & Contracts (MOD & CCS)

Lead end-to-end bids for MOD and UK Government via CCS frameworks, ensuring compliance with Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

Interpret and respond to ITTs/SQs, analyze MEAT criteria, and produce high-scoring, compliant responses aligned to quality, technical, and social value requirements.

Coordinate cross-functional inputs and manage bid governance processes including approvals, and submissions via procurement portals (e.g. Jaggaer, Bravo, Atamis).
NEC Project & Contract Management

Support delivery of NEC3/NEC4 contracts (PSC, ECC), applying core principles (early warning processes, risk management meetings and programmes management and compensation events).

Develop and maintain project plans (Microsoft Project) and oversee contract administration and reporting.
Stakeholder, Governance & Bid Content

Act as central coordination point across internal teams, MOD, and suppliers; support senior leadership with decision-making through structured reporting.

Develop clear, consistent bid content aligned with government evaluation methodologies and maintain a reusable library aligned to CCS/MOD expectations.
