Southern Scientific to exhibit at the CBRN Symposium in Shrivenham

10th November 2014

Southern Scientific will be exhibiting at the annual International CBRN Symposium of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham from the 11th to the 12th November 2014. This is the seventeenth in the series held under the auspices of CBRN-UK and comes at a time when security issues are a hot topic of discussion in governmental departments not only in the UK and Europe, but around the world.

The theme of this year’s Symposium is 'CBRN Technology: Innovation to Exploitation.' Participants will be invited to consider how to improve the relationship between academia, the user community and industry to better innovate, develop and exploit the CBRN technologies of the future.

Through presentations, discussion groups and plenary sessions, the aim is to encourage cross-fertilisation of ideas, the development of new perspectives and the challenging of current thinking.  Key note speakers from Government, academia and industry will be outlining their ideas for better cooperation and, by way of case studies, providing examples of successful cooperation.

Southern Scientific along with a host of other companies, research establishments, academic institutions and public bodies will be displaying their equipment and demonstrating its capabilities in the exhibition that is held alongside the Symposium.  Products scheduled for display on the Southern Scientific stand include the FIDO X3 explosives trace detector as well as a range of radiation detection instruments.

The Exhibition will be held from 11th to 13th November inclusively and, on the Thursday 13th November, will offer a unique opportunity for exhibitors to interact with key UK MoD and Dstl CBRN players as well as their opposite numbers from other Government Departments and Agencies including India, the USA, Canada, Australia and representatives of the European Commission.
