Shielded injection system for theranostic products

Theranojet®ARA is a shielded injection system designed for intravenous administration of radiopharmaceutical drugs, in particular those labelled with 177Lu.

This shielded progressively divisible single-dose injection system can be extended to other uses such as other uses such as alpha therapy, and some diagnostic protocols in nuclear medicine.

Lightweight, mobile and versatile, the shielded injection system Theranojet®ARA allows to safely load radiopharmaceuticals, using a removable shielded container, facilitating transport and connection to the vial.

Designed for optimal radiation protection

Theranojet®ARA reduces the risk of contamination to a minimum, guaranteeing medical staff complete safety during the injection. It allows to prevent any risk of extravasation or air bubble injection, thanks to its secure, configurable pump, guaranteeing flexibility for the different protocols used.

This lightweight unit with 4 swivel wheels, is easy to handle and move around. Its two side handles allow it to be moved effortlessly to carry patient doses to the injection rooms.

It is made entirely of stainless steel, and includes a removable containment tray, allowing for simple and quick disinfection and decontamination, when required, without altering the injection unit’s components.

Bag Holders

Bag holders are designed to receive NaCl (or amino acid) bags and facilitate dose dilution as well as tube rinsing.

Removable contaminant tray

The removable containment tray makes it possible to contain the radiopharmaceutical in the event of a possible connection problem. Since the tray can be removed, this makes disinfection and decontamination easier.

Support and vial shield

The support and vial shield enable the bottle to be turned over, ensuring that all the contents are fully administered. This limits the risk of contamination and pricking because it is easier to install the vial and store it for decay, contrary to the use of needles which require handling.

Multifunctional pump

The pump with its adjustable screen, ensures that the drug is injected in a configurable, secure way and is also used to rinse the connection to the vial. It self-manages the detection of occlusions and air bubbles. The two channels of the pump enable the progressive injection of the radiopharmaceutical with optimal operator radiation protection.

Protected screen and housing

A protection screen and a protection housing protects the user during the injection. The leaded glass transparency makes the tubing and the retention area visible during the entire operation. It allows the user to safely approach the pump to rinse the connection to the vial.

Beaujon AP-HP Hospital, France

The nuclear medicine department at Beaujon AP-HP Hospital in Paris has significant therapy activity, with selective internal radiotherapy using Yttrium-90 microspheres for the treatment of patients with liver tumours, as well as Targeted Radiotherapy (TRT) for patients with metastatic neuroendocrine tumours using Lu-177-DOTATATE and metastatic prostate cancers using Lu-177-PSMA-617.

The hospital has been successfully using the Theranojet®ARA since the summer of 2023 to administer Lutetium-177.
