Lemer Pax have developed one of the first commercially available systems for automated administration of radionuclide therapies
The Theranojet®ARA by Lemer Pax is designed to administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and intravenously for Targeted Radiation Therapy. It is a single-dose shielded injection system which can also be used for targeted radionuclide therapies and some diagnostic protocols.
It allows radiopharmaceuticals to be safely loaded using a removable shielded container, keeping the system light and mobile for movement to and from injection rooms. Made from stainless steel and including a removable drip tray, it can be easily and quickly decontaminated.
Demonstrable reductions in ionising radiation exposure
The Theranojet®ARA’s design maximizes radiation protection and minimizes exposure to staff and contamination risks by shielding several key components using lead or lead glass where necessary. Its secure, configurable pump prevents any risk of extravasation or the injection of air bubbles.
The system is already being used successfully in France for 177Lu injections at the Beaujon AP-HP Hospital in Paris, where it is used to administer LUTHATHERA. Here, it has demonstrated a drastic reduction in the exposure of personnel to ionising radiation at each stage of preparation, administration, and loading.
