3-in-1 Chemical Analysis

The VipIR redefines rapid chemical analysis with Smart Spectral Processing (SSP) technology integrated with Raman spectroscopy and FTIR. Users no longer need to choose between the three methods of chemical analysis and can access a single result with just one sample.

What is Smart Spectral Processing?

SSP is 908 Devices' proprietary algorithm that actively integrates Raman and FTIR spectral data for analysis of complex or mixed substances from a single sample. No repositioning or rework is required. SSP uses the results of one technology to refine or confirm the other technology, delivering a more accurate and reliable chemical identification. Each result includes a confidence score and checkmark verification from both technologies, providing a clear, actionable answer.

Features

One Sample Testing

Placing a small amount of the substance on the diamond enables FTIR and Raman analysis from one sample. No double-dipping samples required.

3-in-1 Analysis

Smart Spectral Processing (SSP) actively integrates Raman and FTIR spectral data to enhance the accuracy and reliability of chemical ID from a single sample.

Verified Results

A single confirmed result across independent spectroscopic methods improves identification of substances in complex or layered samples. No need to conduct another sample analysis.

Extensive Library

An expansive library of over 39,000 chemical spectra means fewer substances go unidentified, reducing delays and providing actionable results. Whether you’re screening for drugs, explosives, toxic chemicals, or unknown chemicals, Smart Spectral Processing (SSP) and a broad database work together to deliver faster answers with greater confidence.

SmartID

VipIR is easy to use, requires little training, and no regular maintenance. Users can follow the SmartID singular workflow and take the guesswork out of unknown chemical analysis or use their expert knowledge to employ FTIR and Raman as needed for specific samples.

SmartID reduces the need to identify which technique is most appropriate for which samples:

  • Aqueous solutions vs. powders
  • Possible energetic/explosive materials
  • Fluorescent materials
  • Polar compounds
