Whole-body composition analysis in just 3 minutes

The minispec LF Series by Bruker is a benchtop whole-body composition analyzer designed for longitudinal studies without the need for anaesthesia. It provides precise measurements of total fat, lean tissue and water content acquired in just 3 minutes, and is available in three models:

  • LF50 for specimens up to 60 g
  • LF90II for specimens up to 700 g
  • LF110 for specimens up to 1000 g

Fast, reliable, repeatable results

Using Time Domain Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (TD-NMR), the minispec provides a non-destructive and non-invasive method for small animal specimens. That means no sedation and no unnecessary stress for the subject.

The analyzer provides animal technicians and scientists with clear objective data, allowing studies to move away from subjective pinch testing. Specialised biopsy probes allow the same trusted analysis to be applied to small organs and tissues post-biopsy. It also eliminates the need for X-ray, CT or MRI methods that are complex, costly and require anaesthesia.
