The new dosemeter is compatible with portable X-ray generators
Southern Scientific is excited to introduce the PXRD pulsed X-ray dosemeter. This new field instrument is engineered specifically to accurately detect and measure pulsed X-rays emitted by portable X-ray generators including Golden Engineering’s XR150, XR200, and XRS3, as well as other compatible models. It features a customizable accumulated dose alarm with audible, visual, and haptic alerts.
Measure pulse widths as short as 25 nanoseconds
Southern Scientific has developed the PXRD to measure X-ray radiation from pulsed sources with pulse widths as short as 25 ns, a capability far beyond that of conventional detectors. This breakthrough makes it ideal for situations where pulsed X-ray systems are used, including:
- Security screening
- Non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Field inspections and diagnostics
- Emergency response and EOD operations
A rugged, lightweight field instrument
Weighing just 480 g, the PXRD can be comfortably used in hand or mounted on a tripod for remote monitoring. It can also operate reliably between 0°C and 40°C and features a chemically resistant keypad for durability and easy decontamination. With an IP54 rating, it is protected against dust ingress and water spray, making it a dependable instrument in adverse weather and demanding field conditions.
