The Vector Proximal Standoff is a new accessory that allows Rigaku's Icon-X Raman analyser to assess compounds up to 3 metres away
The Vector expands the capabilities of the Icon-X chemical threat detector by allowing users to identify hazardous substances from a safe distance without direct interaction.
The Icon-X itself is a handheld Raman analyser capable of identifying a wide range of threats, including improvised explosives, chemical warfare agents, narcotics, and other unknown substances. By pairing the analyser with the Vector, users can conduct remote assessments without the need to physically sample or disturb suspicious materials. This preserves the scene and possible evidence, while reducing the risk of exposure and harm.
Remotely analyse powders, liquids, pastes and solids
The Icon-X slides securely into the Vector’s cradle, enabling immediate standoff analysis. This can be mounted on a tripod or integrated into a UGV for stable, remote Raman measurements in hostile or unsafe environments. Together, the Icon-X and Vector can analyse powders, liquids, pastes and solid materials at distances of up to 3 metres.
