Superior imaging resolution and motion correction
In equine scintigraphy, precision and speed are critical for good image acquisition, especially when working with large, often restless animals. Unlike reconditioned hospital gamma cameras used by some veterinaries, which suffer from image degradation and outdated technology, the MiE Equine Scanner has been designed specifically for imaging horses. It provides superior imaging resolution and motion correction to provide functional detail about skeletal structures and bone activity.
Informed by advancements in human medicine
The design of the MiE and its high-resolution gamma camera has been informed by advancements in human medicine including detector specifications, measurement methods, and processing. And while other systems may require up to four people to operate, the MiE can be managed efficiently by just two users making it an ideal choice for busy equine veterinary centers.
Shorter acquisition times, sharper images
MiE have developed the world’s first real-time motion correction software, ParalyzerPLUS, for equine scintigraphy. This novel rigid registration technology actively compensates for movement during scanning, crucial when working with horses suffering from lameness or older animals who find it difficult to remain standing still for longer periods. This produces sharper images, improved signal-to-noise ratio, and significantly shorter acquisition times, with no need to repeat scans or spend time post-processing images. It is this unique function that allows vets to capture better images with less effort.
