Delivering shielded solutions for radiation protection in radiopharmacies and nuclear medicine departments together
Southern Scientific is excited to announce it is working in partnership with BriTec to provide complete solutions for radiation protection in radiopharmacies and nuclear medicine departments. BriTec is a recognised name in the UK as a quality manufacturer of shielded equipment and workstations for hospitals and PET production sites.
As the UK distributor for many of the world’s leading manufacturers such as Mirion Capintec, this recent development allows Southern Scientific to provide comprehensive shielded solutions against ionising radiation, allowing sites to comply with IRR17 (Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017).
Together, both BriTec and Southern Scientific have already delivered custom-made lead furniture for the dispensing of PET radiopharmaceuticals at King’s College London, in which a high-energy dispensing unit with a built-in dose calibrator was designed and installed as specified by the site’s radiopharmacy. The project reflected both company’s complimenting skillsets to address the unique demands of working in nuclear medicine.
