Palm-size Explosives and Narcotics Identifier

The Fido® Verdict™ is a small, lightweight and ruggedized instrument for rapidly identifying suspicious liquids, solids and powdered materials.

Designed specifically to identify the explosives, liquid threats and narcotics commonly listed by the ATF and DEA, Verdict now allows military and law enforcement officials to do field-based analysis and evidence prioritization.

The instrument uses well-established Raman spectroscopy to identify unknown materials directly through sealed containers, minimizing exposure to potentially dangerous chemicals. During interrogation, a spectrum is captured and compared against an application-specific library to identify the principle components of the suspect sample. The simple three-button interface means a sample can be presented, interrogated, analyzed, and the results provided in under 30 seconds.

Used to screen the contents of containers, bags and bottles at checkpoints, Verdict provides military personnel security agents and law enforcement officials with a portable, easy-to-use and effective tool in the fight against IEDs and illegal drugs.

Operation and Maintenance

Proper operation of theFido® Verdict™ can be learned by most users in under an hour. The system requires no consumables and very little maintenance. Samples can be taken and identification returned in under one minute. Once an identification is made, the system is immediately ready to interrogate new samples.
